hmmm.. the image to me, unless my monitor is going. is blurry. the bg is good and then again it isn't.
however by reading the phrase "this one took me awhile" i'm going to assume your just getting used to photoshop and all the little tricks of the trade.
i'm gonna say its good for a starter. the cutting out of the image is better then some of the work i've seen by new people.
i would keep at it and perhaps look at some tutorials. don't listen to anyone here and there thoughts on how tutorials are no good. it's how everyone learns
