esf

hi everybody ! well, i've got an problem, i can't play the game, can't even start it up, and i have tried a lot of versions, none of them works ! do i need the very first version or what ?????

like are you using steam?
where did you try to install ESF

where ? well, i installed it from here, and yer, i've got steam.... hmmm..... can i play it with cs:cz ? or not ? or DO i need 1.6 ?

You need the original (store purchased) Half-Life.

i've got it ..... u know, it goes into steam browser by itself when i try 2 play it

Yep and it wont work with Counter-Strike. You need Halflife with Steam.

Do you have a steam account? You need to install esf 1.2 and esf 1.2.1 into steam and make sure half life is installed into steam as well.

now it's installed, but the only thing that works is something called "ded server" and it isen't a server though :S well, i can only create, that is what i'm telling u!

Lol, you downloaded the dedicated server pack. If you want to play games you need "esf beta 1.2" and esf beta 1.2.1 you downloaded the wrong thing x.x

ya man. my problem is too, that i can create esf games, but dont find any esf-server. why it is so? i downloaded the right version. (ESF_B12_Full.exe+ESF_B121_Patch.exe)

If you have cs 1.6 with steam then put esf in it will work with out half life.

what if i don't have it ? ??? ? i'm just gonna put it into hl ?

hmm.. this is kinda of jumbly to me...
this is what i did to install ESF, because i bought retail counter-strike.
first, i downloaded steam. I played HL through steam.
then I downloaded the ESF files.

it seems like you've done almost everything except play HL. playing HL will create a HL folder in your steamapps folder. ESF needs that HL folder inorder to be installed.
my game has run smoothly since my first installation. except for the known random crash bugs...

Uninstall everything.
Install Half-Life.
Make a Steam account using a legitimate and valid CD-Key (i.e. bought)
Install Steam to the Half-Life Folder.
Run Half-Life once through Steam.
Install ESF 1.2 In your Steam folder.
Install ESF patch 1.2.1 in your Steam folder.
Youre good as new.
