No no no it does not work that way. You need your hl1 cd key to be able to run esf and cs. If you sell your account you lose the possibility to play esf.

Well if you get Half-Life 2, it comes with Valves (free) back catalogue of Half-Life, CS, DoD, Deathmatch Classic, Ricochet and Opposing Force, and possibly Blue Shift. So you will be able to play ESF via the Half-Life.

Yup what he said, but only with the collectors addition, the silver and gold packages avaliable on steam.
