PLZ HELP NEWB

Um I downloaded v.1.2-1.2.3. and when i install and try to play game on internet it says esf needs to update than it goes the half life update program. Someone tell me how to install the game properly plz. I just went out and bought the game 2 days ago and still haven't figured out how to install prperly. Help This Newb PLZ!!!!!

In order to play ESF you need the following things:

1) Download steam : www.steampowered.com
2) If you have bought the game and if it is not updated to it's latest release than download half-life update 1.1.1.0
3) If you have that than skip 2
4) Than you see a screen on steam that says register my purchased game or something in there you have to put in your cd-key
5) Than you have to download ESF 1.2.3 That's all.

Next time use SEARCH.

right... half-life 1 is a vary old game... the orignal internet multiplayer system was shut down after steam was released... download steam, see post above
