Korin's Tower​

So I've been working on Korin's Tower model for a less than month now.
Here are some pictures where I've managed to get. I would say i have a 90% done models exterior (just the model without textures or maps and interior). Maybe I'll find some bugs and fix them. Also I have to manage how to lower the polygon count of the railing and keep the detail, as it takes almost 21'000 polygons (the total count of polygons in the model is 33'700 polygons). So the next step is to make the UVW unwrapping and create nice texture for it, also the interior.

Is this for ESF: Final? Regardless, I think it looks great, although like Zeo I don't know much about art either.

Well , after the SkyLand lost it's potential , I asked Raven what should I make, he suggested to create Korin's Tower. Dunno about any other details. I'm just creating this, as good as I can.

1. What do you have planned for the interior?

2. I think the distance between the poles on the railing for the stairs should be changed, it looks odd with how some are close to each other and others are far away. Make the distance even. I also think the railing should be closer to the side edge of the stairs, it looks kind of weird with how far way it is from the edge imo. I'm also pretty sure that there was never a gap between the other side of the stairs and the wall, so you should make the stairs longer to the point where they're all touching the wall.

3. Will this be part of Adam's map, or is this going to be something completely separate?

2.I'll fix the railing. Also The stairs are hard to make to be next to the wall(because of the shape of tower), but I'll try to do that.

The stairs should be easy to fix, I'm pretty sure you can just make it so the verticies for each step isn't connected, and then just drag each step into the wall.

Oh well maybe, back when i was creating them , didn't want to sit on one thing too long. I'll try to fix them tomorrow, maybe it ain't that big problem at all ^_^

The only thing to consider : that i can't make the stairs go trough the wall, gotta make them as precise as i can , as you will see them from inside, as the wall has 0 thickness.

Shouldn't the inside of a building always have a separate wall than the one on the outside? It would look strange to walk into a building and have a completely flat wall in the entrance :p

agree with damaera, you should make an inner wall, also, it looks kinda overpolied, but it's getting nice :)

Sry I should have mentioned that earlier I guess. But as a requirement for possible destruction you need to have "solid"-3d walls meaning there has to be a wall volume, in other words a wall-plane is not working out. Still should be easy to fix while you are still modeling it, would have been worse if you had already UV mapped it. Still like I said on TS, good job it's getting there.

Well the problem remains only in the bottom-top mesh, so i think it shouldn't be problem adding a shell modifier (except i don't know what the windows will do, but maybe that's a good reason to remake them into better ones)

Okay I started to do redo the bottom part of the tower, check the railing for the stairs, if it's okay now. Haven't done anything with the stairs themselves yet. More updates later. :

I will hopefully make an update today , at least on the stairs and door(pain in the ass)
