Modeling Help?

yo guys am "Attempting" to model cooler from DBZ (Final Form) think anyone can give me any tips on how to do this or any good refs?

I dont know if this is your first model your gonna do or what, but it sounds like your new to model. My advice, when your starting off in model dont model a character because hes your favorite (Im assuming your modeling him cause you like him), pick a character that you have many reference pics of. Like Goku, Krillin, etc.

What program are you using?

am currently using gmax, and i guess am ok with it, havent figured out how to make good 3 models with the windows yet tho. maby you can give me some pointers? (Am getting 3DS Max 9 soon, friend has it and hes sending it to me tomorow)
