hey how do you color stuff without first having skinned it ive seen it done a few times even in this fourum and the btl fourum i just dont know how to do it

apparently not, (refer to your first post in this thread)

press m to go into the material editor, pick a material "ball", click the diffuse color slot and pick your color. with the parts of the model you want colored selected click the "assign material to selection" or something like that.

ok rightclick the model when you have it all seleted with polygon and then click Editable Poly and then use the Polygon Selete to click the part you want to do a certian color and then click the red ball with what it looks like snow on the top of it at the end or you toolbar up top and then hit New than Standard than you will see 3 places you can add a color in then just use the 1st 1 for a normal color and dobleclick it and there ya go when you have your color click ok then when the part of you model you wan to color is still seleted hit apply and you have color :D
